The event, held at 2pm was organised by the Phuket Provincial Office, in collaboration with the Phuket Provincial Fisheries Office, Ratsada Municipality and various agencies under the Fisheries Department.
The ceremony featured the release of 1 million aquatic animals, primarily shrimp, into the local waters. This initiative aimed to both honour Her Majesty Queen Suthida and conserve the aquatic resources by boosting the population of aquatic animals in local waters, Governor Sophon said.
Governor Sophon delivered a royal tribute and offered auspicious blessings, expressing deep gratitude for the grace of His Majesty the King, said an official report of the event.
"I would like to respectfully inform His Majesty the King that I, Sophon Suwannarat, Governor of Phuket Province, along with the heads of government agencies in Phuket Province, civil servants and Fisheries Department officials and the people of Phuket Province who are here are delighted and grateful for His Majesty’s grace. On the occasion of Her Majesty Queen Suthida’s birthday, we join in organising the aquatic animal release ceremony," he said.
The ceremony saw participation from government officials, students, merchants and local residents, who collectively released the aquatic animals.
Governor Suwannarat also conveyed his wishes for the King’s well-being, stating, "On this occasion, I ask for royal permission to pay my respects to His Majesty the King and offer auspicious blessings. I would like to invite the power of the Triple Gem and the divine power of Phra Siam Devadhiraj to graciously provide care and inspiration for His Majesty to live long and have happiness, with perfect health and a long lifespan. May His Majesty’s reign be a lasting gift to the Thai people."
