Celebrating its ninth year, the event is the largest hotel expo of its kind in the southern Thailand region, geared to demonstrate the world-class standards of hotel and tourism service personnel.
Phuket Governor Sophon Suwannarat opened th event yesterday with a press conference and was joined by Rewat Areerob, President of the Phuket Provincial Administrative Organization (PPAO), Thianprasit Chaiyaphattranan, President of the Thai Hotel Association, and Suksit Suwanditthakul, President of the Southern Thai Hotels Association.
The event runs until 10pm today with more than 115 booths showcasing an array of products specific to the hotel and hospitality sector, with many prizes to be won.
An academic seminar held on-site will focus on the application of modern technology in the hospitality industry with a particular focus of environmental awareness.
There will also be a professional skills competition, including a chef’s workshop, a technician’s workshop and a cocktail mixing-bartender contest, as well as a free musical concert to round off proceedings featuring the bands LG H. and Phonphon.
The event is supported by Thai Beverage Public Company Limited, Haad Thip Public Company Limited, Phuket Thienthong Company Limited, and Betagro.
