Emergency services were called to the scene, a rental room on the ground floor of a building in front of Moo Baan Thepthani, at about 3:40pm.

Three fire trucks from Ratsada Municipality along with first responders from Vachira Phuket Hospital, the Kusoldharm Foundation and other relevant organisations soon arrived.

Also soon to arrive were a host of local officials, including the Ratsada Mayor, an Advisor to the Governor of Phuket, local police officers, the Mueang Phuket District Chief and village headmen.

The affected rental room was used as both a residence and a space for an electrical installation business. The owner was not present when the fire started.

Firefighters controlled the fire by 4:40pm, preventing it from spreading to the upper floors of the building.

One individual sustained minor injuries, experiencing chest tightness and smoke inhalation. He was promptly transported to Vachira Phuket Hospital for treatment and has since been declared safe to return home. No fatalities were reported.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire and assessing the extent of the damage.

Assistance will be provided to affected parties in accordance with local regulations, said an official report of the response to the fire.
