The operation, led by Wichit Police Station under the direction of Pol Col Somsak Thongkliang, was launched at 1:30am following ongoing complaints about late-night gatherings and illegal racing along Sakdidet Rd, Laem Dinso, Khlong Mudong and Ao Makham.

Pol Lt Col. Wutthawat Liangbunchinda, Deputy Superintendent of Investigation, together with Pol Lt Sawat Phon-on and Pol Lt Pinij Sritongsuk, led the patrol team that detained the teenagers, all under the age of 18, and impounded their vehicles for investigation.

According to police, the youths attempted to hide their modified motorbikes in roadside grass when they spotted approaching officers. However, their actions were closely monitored, and all 14 motorbikes were located and seized.

Pol Col Somsak stated that parents or guardians of the arrested minors would be summoned and could face prosecution under the Child Protection Act B.E. 2546. Authorities are considering charges under Section 26 (2), which prohibits parents or guardians from promoting or consenting to behaviour that places children at risk of committing offenses or engaging in dangerous conduct.

“This kind of activity not only disturbs the public but also puts these young people in real danger,” said Pol Col Somsak. “Parents must take responsibility. If they knowingly allow or fail to prevent such risky behaviour, they may be considered complicit under the law.”

The arrested teenagers were taken to Wichit Police Station, and police have confirmed that further operations will continue to prevent unlawful street racing and ensure public safety in the area.
